For security conferences and meetups

Every talk, clipped. Nothing leaves our machines.

Upload your event's talk recordings. legit2clip finds the moments worth sharing, frames the speaker and captions every word. It all runs on computers we own and operate, and your talks never go to an outside AI service.

How it works

1

Get a pass for your event

Sign in with Discord, Google, GitHub or Twitch and pick the pass that covers your hours of talks. You pay once.

2

Add your talks

Upload the recordings (up to 2 GB each) or pick them from Google Drive or Dropbox. Queue as many as you like.

3

Choose the shape

Vertical for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. Square or landscape keeps slides readable. Then pick one of the caption styles.

4

Hand each speaker their package

Your event page lists every talk with its clips, a caption file (SRT), the full transcript and a short report, plus a ready-made post for each speaker to share.

Proven on a whole security archive

SecKC, Kansas City's hacker meetup, let us run its public talk archive through legit2clip. We submitted 71 hours of talks at once, and the last one was finished 5.4 hours later. Every clip we posted links back to the speaker's full talk. Read the build log: the numbers, what it picked and what broke.

What "private" means here

Security people ask, so here is exactly where your video goes.

  • Transcription, choosing the moments, cutting and captioning run only on computers we own and operate.
  • Never on community members' computers, and never on rented cloud GPUs.
  • No outside AI service sees your video or its transcript.
  • Finished files are delivered through Cloudflare's storage so you can download them.
  • Your uploads, clips and transcripts are deleted 30 days after your pass ends. Database backups that still hold a copy roll off within 35 days after that.

One price per event

Pay once for the event. There's no subscription and nothing renews.

Questions

Do you post anything?

No. You get the files. You and your speakers decide what goes out and where.

Can we paste our YouTube playlist?

Not yet. Upload the original recordings, or pick them from Google Drive or Dropbox. They're usually better quality than the YouTube copy anyway.

What about talks with lots of slides?

Choose square or landscape. A tall 9:16 crop can cut off slide text.

Will it clip the Q&A?

Rarely. In the SecKC run, under 3% of the picks started in the last tenth of a talk, where the questions usually are.

How long does it take?

About 12 minutes of processing per hour of video, and talks run side by side. SecKC's 71 hours, submitted at once, were done in 5.4 hours.

Do we need our speakers' OK?

Use the same permission you have for the recordings. The clips are short excerpts of each talk, and we suggest sending every speaker their package so they can share it.

Got a gaming PC? Let it earn while you're away.

legit2compute, from the same team, lends your PC's idle hours to a community network that runs open AI models and media jobs, clips included. It steps aside the moment you're back, and every job it finishes is checked and credited to you.
